Pi held its 2007-2008 AGM on Monday, November 10th, and it was a fantastic event. We crammed a few dozen people in our office, shared the successes and challenges of the 2007-2008 season, elected 3 new board members, and enjoyed yummy treats generously donated by Rocky Mountain Flatbread and La Baguette et l’echalotte. Thanks to everyone who came out and shared their enthusiasm for Pi—we can’t wait to see you at our first show!
If you missed the AGM and are sad sad sad, you can still get your membership and join our mailing list so you stay in the loop.
The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance ninth annual Making a Scene conference closed on November 16 on Granville Island. It was a wonderful conference with great panels and breakout sessions giving participants an opportunity to delve into the state of today’s theatre. Guests included award winning playwright and director Daniel MacIvor, former Artistic Director of both the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and the National Arts Centre (English Theatre) Marti Maraden and director and educator extraordinaire, Arne Zaslove. Each of these people brought huge enthusiasm and insight to the conference.
Thanks to the board, staff and volunteers at the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance for putting together an excellent four days.
Special notice goes to the mystery Goody Goddess who kept a steady supply of high quality food on hand morning, noon and night both outside the conference rooms and at Da Klub. Who needed to go home?
