Hey, I’m the new Co-op student at Pi theatre. My name is San Aung, and I am awesome. This blog post is a chance for me to introduce myself. I am a Psychology major and Communications minor at SFU. Even though there is not that big of an overlap between my fields of study and the work that Pi Theatre does, I still applied for the position out of a life long interest in the theatre.
A passion of mine is improvisational theatre, which I have taken part in since my awkward and acne ridden days in high school. Even in the transition from secondary to post-secondary education, I still partook in improv, eventually taking on a leadership position in the SFU Improv Club. My experiences in an administrative role for a group of performers are actually what led me to work for Pi Theatre.
In my first few days at Pi Theatre I have been tasked with the responsibility of building up a comprehensive contact list of possible participants for an exciting and new fundraising event that will be taking place a couple months from now. I was actually brought on to assist in organizing this event, and I look forward to taking on a more hands on role in bringing the event all together. Stay tuned for more information about the new super cool awesome fundraising event, organized in part by me, San Aung.
