Pi Theatre

Over the holidays, I saw Waltz with Bashir, an animated Israeli documentary about the Lebanon War. It was fantastic—beautiful, haunting images and a very innovative storytelling device that manages to make scenes of violent conflict fresh and engaging and ultimately watchable, without being too graphically real.

I also learned that, in addition to being the name of the main character in our upcoming show, ‘Bashir’ was the first name of the President-elect of Lebanon who was assassinated in 1982.
