Rei Ga-wun Leung is a Deaf Asian mixed background of Taiwanese and Chinese non-binary descent. Rei is a Deaf artist consultant, poet, zine maker, gamer, performer, and activist that led to unpacking truth and challenges with memoirs, poems and storytelling. Their works are self-published, performed on the so called Canada, from Ontario-British Columbia to recognize and honour on the traditional unsurrendered of the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe, the Wendat,the Mississaugas of the Credit, and Coast Salish Territory, Musqueam, Squamish,Stó:lō, and Tsleil-Waututh territories. Two solo performances were “Silence, No control - Interplay 2017”, and “Home:Body - Tangled Art 2017”. Several self-published zine works from “2017 Life Conditions”, “The First Time with published illustration and poem in Re:Asian May 2017”, and the DeafPOC Poem #1 as Best Political zine awarded in Broken Pencil Zine.
